PsychoLab: Beyond the First Gate – A Glimpse into the Unknown
The air in the abandoned industrial hall was cold and heavy as the PsychoLab team stood before the first, open gate. The third key had activated the massive stone structure, and now a dark passage lay before them, leading into an unknown world. A sense of tension hung in the air—as if the shadows that had haunted them for weeks were waiting at this very moment for their next move.
But there was no turning back. The door had led her to this point, and the only way to find the truth was to go through it.
The transition to a new reality
"We're ready," said Dr. Eva Stein , as she took a final look at the devices measuring the door's energy flow. The readings were unstable—as if reality on the other side wasn't firmly anchored.
Clara Winter took a deep breath and stepped over the threshold first. She immediately felt a strange tingling sensation on her skin, as if the air around her were thickening. The rest of the team cautiously followed.
The darkness on the other side wasn't absolute—it was in motion. Swathes of fog, punctuated by pulsating pink and green lightning , seemed to flow in waves. The ground beneath them felt strangely stable, yet not quite real, as if they were walking on a memory about to dissipate.
Then, quite suddenly, the surroundings changed.
The endless archive
Before them stretched a vast hall, its walls lined with high shelves. Books, documents, ancient scrolls —an archive that seemed to come from another world. Between the shelves floated small, glowing symbols, moving slowly as if guarding the texts.
"This isn't an ordinary library," whispered Clara. "It's a collection of memories."
As the team looked around, Dr. Stein noticed that some of the books and documents seemed blurry and almost intangible—as if they existed only as long as someone remembered them. Yet some books seemed to radiate a special energy.
“Perhaps this archive contains the truth about the door and its guardians,” she murmured.
The Guardians of Memories
Suddenly, the lights around them flickered, and a movement in the distance caused the team to freeze. Shadowy figures appeared between the shelves. But this time they were different. They were no longer just observers—they were holding books themselves, as if deliberately giving meaning to certain memories.
"That's it!" Clara cried. "They control what is remembered and what is forgotten."
One of the shadows slowly turned toward them. No face, no eyes—but an indescribable expression of power lay in his posture. In his hands he held a book, the cover of which was adorned with the same symbol as the third key.
The warning
"You have entered the first path," a voice suddenly sounded—deep, echoing, as if coming from the walls themselves. "But not every truth is meant for the mind."
The light in the hall began to flicker. Shadows moved toward the team, not threateningly—rather as a warning. Then the tallest of the guards gently placed the book on a stone table in the middle of the hall.
Dr. Stein cautiously approached and opened it. The pages were blank—until the engravings of the third key began to appear on them. It was a message, a story, only made visible because they had come here.
“The second gate will open only to those who remember.”
What happens next?
The words echoed. Memories? Did the guards mean the lost documents from the archive? Or were they themselves the key to opening the second gate?
The team knew they couldn't just rely on their knowledge—they had to delve deeper into the past to decipher the next step.
But as they looked around the endless archive, the surroundings began to flicker again. As if reality itself rebelled against their presence.
Until the next revelation
The PsychoLab team has passed through the first gate—but the world beyond is far larger and more mysterious than they expected. Which memories hold the key to the second gate? And what exactly are the guardians trying to preserve—or hide?
Stay tuned – the story is far from over.
